    I always propose to my mortgage clients that they got get their appraisal done first, before mortgage shopping. I notice that since zillow began they were really misleading home owners in terms of the data they provide as opposed to what the home owner thinks they are really getting.

    I still suggest homeowners get their own appraisal done before refinancing so they control it and not the broker.
